Hotel room robbed in USA & Police woe

About 5 weeks ago I went to America for 2 weeks. At the start of our trip in San Fran our hotel room was robbed. Police called, reports taken, finger prints etc etc.
Last week the official police report arrived and the officer has made some big mistakes with regards to items I had taken and the value.
I have a copy of the original sheet that the officer jotted down everything that we had had stolen.
How he's got my items so wrong I don't know because he's got my travelling partners report absolutely spot on.
The insurance company will only reimburse me for what is stated on the police report, so obviously I need to get the police to amend the statement.
Easier said than done!
I've emailed them 3 times and now tweeted them twice. They won't reply. So I think my only option left is an expensive phone call, unless the collective wisdom of MSE can give me any other suggestions.
Just for clarity the mistakes will cost me £250ish if I allow the claim to go through as is, it's a lot of money to me so I really need to pursue this.
Thanks in advance.

Use Skype or equivalent to call, not expensive at all.0

How about no longer being masochistic?
How about remembering your divinity?
How about unabashedly bawling your eyes out?
How about not equating death with stopping?0 -
Or better yet, buy a calling card, use Rebtel so you know your call charges upfront and won't be in danger of being stung with a huge phone bill. Last time I checked calls were very cheap, some as low as 1p per minute. When calling try to get details of someone higher up...the Organ Grinder not the monkey!
Good Luck, I hope you managed to get it sorted.0 -
As above ..ring them, use the international call checker...from 0.5p per minute
not expensive at all and no need to buy any cards

better still if you have international calls as part of a sky package they are free0 -

That's what I was going to say, if you're not with Sky do you know anyone who is who will let you call.Accept your past without regret, handle your present with confidence and face your future without fear0
