Question - moving and switching supplier
Hi, I am in the process of selling my house and will be moving to rented accommodation. I'll be starting the tenancy on 12th December - can I book a supplier now to start on that day or do I have to wait until I move in?
Currently I only know the new address & postcode, but I don't know the current supplier.
Thanks!

You have to register with the existing supplier, give them your readings on the day you move in and you are then free to start a switch which will take usually between 3-6 weeks.
By ringing them on the day you move in you give them the opportunity (should they wish to ) to send out a meter reader to check the readings. This should ensure you dont end up paying for any of the previous occupants usage.0
