Boosting Credit Report Advice

Hi all,
I am in the process of looking to buy a house. I had an intiail meeting with an advisor yesterday about my options.
When she did a soft search I failed at that point. She then went to ask me about my credit report and if I have any missed payments or high credit card balances.

After going home and thinking about the ways I could improve my report. I have now paid off a credit card which had a £1583 used of the £2250 limit. Will this have boosted my credit report if I continue to pay off in full for 6 months? (this is when I am to purchase an house.

I also had an account stating that I was 3months in arrears it was an old bank account which was switched but the overdraft was not paid off. This was recently it was settled at the end of august this year. How long would you expect this to have a large effect?

Everything else is upto date, no payments missed, no deffaults, no ccj's registered on the electoral register etc...

The only loan I have on my account is via car finance and I have 50months left of payments on the car, does this affect what I could borrow

Would you all have any other advice on what I should do to have more positives on my report
