Advice on a tenant

Firstly thanks to all for responding, your advice has been great.
A claim arrived today with my uncle basically blaming him for the fall and knowingly placing him in danger etc. Its utter rubbish because nobody in their right mind would climb up this hill and in any case the tennant requested we pay a gardener to landscape the are before they moved in so there was no reason at all for him to climb up there at all.
I have advised my uncle to take this to his solicitor and take things from there, once again thanks to all of you and I will keep you posted on what happens next

Good luck - this tenant sounds exactly like the kind of 'I want free money and I am not going to let right, wrong, truth, justice or morality stand in the way of making a claim' idiot who are ruining the justice system for those genuinely in need of assistance. I am sure your uncle's solicitor can give him an idea of how he stands on this one. Might be worth checking whether he was drunk at the time (only reason I can think of for climbing this wall) as that may have a bearing on the outcome - I presume the hospital would have these records from his addmittance?0
