Benchmarx oxford Range - worried about quality

I'm having a new kitchen fitted ( Benchmarx Oxford range ) and noticed one of the doors has a dent / chip / scrape which Ive pointed out to the fitter. He mentioned filling it and I said that I wanted it replaced. I've now checked the rest of the doors and end panels and found more chips / dents / scrapes. Now admittedly I've looked very closely but I'm really worried about the quality as I haven't even used the kitchen yet. Benchmarx has a 5 year guarantee on covering fascias so in theory they should be replaced but I worried the kitchen isn't going to stand up to normal use.

any thoughts ?

  • If it's a painted one does he intend to repaint the door? I take it we are talking a solid door and not a wrapped one. If it is unpainted and you are looking that hard I would say you will be able to see the filler.
  • no its not solid but a wrapped one ?!
  • I don't know what he intends to fill then.
  • Ive told him I want the door replaced not filled but surely there shouldn't be so many small chips and dents in a kitchen that hasn't even been used yet ?
  • Can you post pictures?

Sound like most of that would be from a poor delivery and maybe a bad batch of their stuff.
They should replace all you want if the product isnt to the full standard.
I would also look into the 5 year guarantee on fascias as this will most likely only cover manufacture default, not wear and tear/ general use etc
