    Exactly what course is it?

If it is the return to work course then, unless you have good reason, you will most likely receive a sanction.
    Gone ... or have I?

The best thing to do is get a job - then you don't have to attend the course any more.

Seriously - the course is meant to improve your chances of getting a job and they would be delighted if you left early because you found one.

Good luck with the job seeking.

    Hi

If the course is part of New Deal or other Mandatory Programme, you may get a sanction of 2 weeks, 4 weeks and then 26 weeks if you fail to attend the course.

The sactions are 2 weeks for 1st sanction, 4 weeks for 2nd and 26 weeks for 3rd fail to attend.

yep i know it would be easier to get a job but i've applied for pretty much everything i've seen with no luck now the course i'm on at the moment is all about job search basically thats wht you do for 3 hours a day which don't get me wrong is a good idea but i don't need help with looking for a job i need help with the getting the job, maybe i am wrong and should stick it out till the end but i don't want to get to the end of the course and feel it has been a complete waste of 13 weeks.

The course should be more than "looking for a job", it should be about presenting yourself when you've found a job to apply for - that's what gets you the job.

Please do stick with the course - and consider all the help offered.

    Good luck!

basically you sit in a room with newspapers and a few computers and look for jobs there are a few different certificates to gain like emergency first aid/food hygiene etc which could come in handy

i don't see the point in a 13 week course on looking for a job looking is the easy part it's the gettin the job most people have the problem with.

twice: You are right. See my post (#6) where I say that it is more than about looking for a job, it's about presenting yourself in order to get a job.

Toots: If your family member helps others with their English then it might not have been totally pointless - it could perhaps have led to a new career in teaching basic skills. All sorts of people can find that a fulfilling job. Sometimes the benefits of a course are not always exactly as you think they will be before you start.
