Remy Martin VSOP v Courvoisier VSOP

My personal preference is Bisque De Bouche but as a gift I would be happy with a bottle of Soberano !

My other half would choose an ARMAGNAC over any of these.

Of those mentioned the Courvoisier would be chosen ahead of the Remy Martin or the Hennessy ...

... but an ARMAGNAC always beats all of these Cognacs.

We've bought a few brands over the years when we've been on a visit to France but a locally available favourite (ASDA) is

Janneau Grand Armagnac


It's in a half-litre bottle (50cl/500ml) and currently on of offer at £14.50 (ASDA is usually £16.50 and currently £15.99 at Morrisons)

Another one that usually pops up at Aldi for the Xmas shop is

DUCASTAING 1973 Almagnac



which as you can see came in on Nov 23rd

It's also 50cl and sells for £24.99

However "EXPERTS" suggest DUCASTAING 1973 Almagnac equivalents cost £90 or more.

Armagnac is produced in a different method to Cognac and some would say that it is "fuller bodied", softer, smoother and with more complex flavours
