I really wish they wouldn't make it a branch only thing.I thought having accounts via the internet meant you got better rates.
In any case by 2019 I think (and hope!!) that rates will be better than this.I have just opened a poppy bond with the Coventry at 2.40% for three years.0 -
thanks, but too many hoops for me and most as savers are clobbered again and again. Though I have been a notts customer for 20 years"enough is a feast"...old Buddist proverb0

Agree borderline. Am building up for the Pensioner Bonds. 2.8% and 4%.0

NBS is local to me but, with interest rates expected to rise from mid/late 2015, I wouldn't tie up funds for nearly 5 years at 3% with no early release options0

There are a couple of internet only 5 year fixes offering (slightly!) better rates (Secure Trust Bank 3.11% and FirstSave 3.08%): http://moneyfacts.co.uk/savings/fixed-rate-bonds/In any case by 2019 I think (and hope!!) that rates will be better than this.I have just opened a poppy bond with the Coventry at 2.40% for three years
Agree 5 years is a little long to fix at these rates (the last 5 year fix i opened was a cash Isa @5% back in 2011). I chose to go with Paragon Banks 2.5% for 3 years the other day.Never let the perfume of the premium overpower the odour of the risk0 -
Apparently first issued in Feb this year. I put in the minimum £1k.0

Still got that 5% Coventry going strong, thanks for that'Just think for a moment what a prospect that is. A single market without barriers visible or invisible giving you direct and unhindered access to the purchasing power of over 300 million of the worlds wealthiest and most prosperous people' Margaret Thatcher0 -
