Re Cloned Mobile

Options
Afternoon
Can someone help please my friend has had a bill 45 over what she normally spends. On further investigation she was told it was because she made a 40 minute call to Puerto rico at 11pm. At that time she was in a private room in hospital with her daughter as she was in labour, so unlikely to be chatting to somebody in South America. O2 have told her she will have to pay it because phones cannot be hacked cloned whatever you call it, so it must be her.
Any help would be brilliant
Thanks
Kim

((At that time she was in a private room in hospital with her daughter ))

Where was the phone at the time of the call ??

Are you saying the phone is a clone ???
  • i dont think he is saying phone is clone. As far as i can tell he/she thinks sim card is cloned, which i think is nearly impossible.

You might have virus on your smartphone and it might be calling premium number in that country or o2 somehow have billed you wrong
  • She was in the hospital room from early afternoon and stayed with her daughter overnight. She had the phone with her at all times waiting for her son in law to ring as it was an emergency admission, and he works away. They had en-suite so she never even left the room for that and the staff provided food and refreshments. She was distraught because of her daughter and baby. But O2 wont listen and have told her the only way the call was made was from her phone.
    Thanks for your reply.

If you do bit of research than you will find out it only copies the contacts or sms if they are saved on sim card

    Edit...

This is what it says on ebay listing(the link you have posted)

Read, edit, backup your telephone directory and SMS for your GSM devices.
  • Thank you to everyone for the replies. Don't know how it happened then so she'll just have to pay it.
    Thanks
