Hi everyone
I want to convert my course notes which are in a pdf file into recognizable text so that i will be able to then use a text to voice converter.
I would then like to copy them onto my ipod.
Any advice would be very much appreciated.

File - Export - Text - then choose format you want it in, either of the text formats would be best0

There a number of free pdf to word converters, just do a search and take your pick.0

Thanks for tip, however i can't seem to find export in my Adobe reader.
It shows File-Save as text, but this is greyed out.
Any suggestions

Here is alink for a trial Of adobe acrobat 8 .This only lasts 30 days before it will ask you to purchase .but if you only want to use it for one task then it should allow you full access to your files .http://www.adobe.com/products/acrobatpro/tryout.html0

Some PDF files have protection in place to stop you copying/extracting the text.
There isn't (meant to be) a way of getting around this, other than asking the creator of the PDF nicely.student100 hasn't been a student since 2007...0 -
As a last resort I suppose you could do it in two stages ... print it out first then use the MS OCR built in to XP.

Just a thought.

In Adobe, Edit/Select All/Copy then Edit/Paste into wordpad/notepad/word etc.0
