Trouserfire didn't address Michael's substantive point about the law at all.
Pity it was on 5 Live, would've carried much more impact on R4 Today which is what we were led to expect.Je suis Charlie.0 -
OK, he was on Today as well:

About 51:45. Michael got the point about GPEOL across more strongly than he did on 5 Live, and the presenter took it up and challenged Trouserfire over it. His astonishing response was to claim that it was legitimised by PoFA 2012!
I wish Michael wouldn't start every sentence with "So...".Je suis Charlie.0 -
As for PE, it depends on how you define your population. If you take just the population of PPC employees then PE probably is above average!

Baseline: owd Trev! Please note, we are not a legal advice forum. I personally don't get involved in critiquing court case Defences/Witness Statements, so unable to help on that front. Please don't ask. .
I provide only my personal opinion, it is not a legal opinion, it is simply a personal one. I am not a lawyer.

After 2008, the LIBOR and FOREX scandals and the near collapse of the banking system history has proved my suspicions correct.
Funnily enough I got the same feeling this morning listening to Patrick Troy of the BPA defending the indefensible.
It was a bit like the old lag in court when being defended by a barrister. The implied message comes across that the old lag is a guilty as hell but I have to say these things in his defense as I'm paid to do so.
Ms. Knight is now the mouthpiece for the big energy companies. She is still trying to defend the indefensible regarding energy companies' profits and pricing structures. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0 -
... supposing the population is 6, and the average intelligence is 4. You've then got three people with an average intelligence of 2 (all working for ANPR Ltd.) and plugging the numbers into the formula gives you three people with an average intelligence of 6 (we're at ParkingEye level now).
Or you couls have 6 people all with an intelligence of 4, but then, no-one would be below average. You never know how far you can go until you go too far.0 -

I too have always been entertained by the pugnacious Ms Knight CBE who is quite without shame in justifying the antics of her employers. She had good training as prior to being an apologist for the Banks was a right wing Tory MP.
Sadly she is stepping down from her current post at the end of the year although she can obviously laugh at herself as according to this report Mrs Knight herself had joked that her next move, after banking and energy, would be “arms exports”. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/finance/newsbysector/energy/11090950/Dashwood-Energy-companies-pay-14000-for-propaganda-video.html
Interestingly Angela like Margaret Thatcher is a chemistry graduate.0 -
Michael deserves credit for doing what he is doing, but needs someone else to do the media interviews, especially when up against the likes of Troy (and the OT Knight) who are masters at it, they don't get to where they are by being useless when in an interview situation.
Their modus operandi is the same as a politician. Listen to what is being said, ignore what is being asked, fill air time getting their message across and sidetracking the pertinent issue.
To counter this approach you need to continually get back on to the reason for being on the programme. If you don't you will never come across as having a coherent argument.0 -
You want somebody like Paxo to put forward the case. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

I'm waiting for them to add double dipping to it as its clearly a fraudulent activity.I'd rather be an Optimist and be proved wrong than a Pessimist and be proved right.0

This subject whenever discussed, is sadly allways under a strict time frame, it needs to have a full debate just like nigel farage / nick clegg had on LBCPPCs say its carpark management, BPA say its raising standards..... we all know its just about raking in the revenue. :eek:0
