in Credit cards
Hi All,
I have a Capital One card with limit £200.
I have accidently over paid by £14 so am now £14 in credit - does anyone know if Capital One are ok with this as a one off? I did send them a secure message but the response was "Yes you are in credit" and nothing more!
Thanks for someone answering this!

You should be ok, I'd spend the £14, to make bring the account back to normal.0

What do you mean by "okay" with it? What do you think will happen? I highly doubt you'll be investigated for money laundering over £14 if that's what you're thinking.
You can either ask for them to refund it into the account you paid it from or by cheque, OR just spend on the card as normal.0 -
Literally had to deal with this myself today!
I'd paid off the balance in full, totally forgetting that I'd transferred £50 to it a few days prior. It hadn't been registered on the account balance, pending or otherwise, so it didn't even occur to me at the time.
Anyway, I just called them up and asked them to send the excess £50 back to the account from which it was paid. They said it'd stay on the account for around 10 days (couldn't get a proper reason why other than "the system"), where it would then be refunded and be received within 3-4 days, pretty standard. So from today I'm looking at having it back in my account around the 24th-25th Nov.
Could be worse. Anyway, I think this kind of thing happens a fair amount, and there was no issue with getting it back, just a small wait.0 -

As some card companies do not like you going in credit on a credit card. :santa2:
