Christmas TV adverts

Hi all
Has anyone else noticed that the Christmas TV adverts seem quite depressive this year?
I realise that they are reflective & thought provoking, but I thought Christmas was supposed to be a jolly time lol - these adverts at the moment have a tendancy for making a person feel melancholy and really lack any 'feel good factor' at all
Kind of make you feel guilty for even having a Christmas at all

I've noticed the Aldi & Lidl (which seem to be pretty similar), Smyths Toys and the M&S one.
All those seem pretty upbeat (at least to me).
But, TBH, I'm not taking a lot of notice of Christmas adverts at the moment.
Any others or just that one?
John Lewis have done this for years at Christmas, they go for iconic and thought-provoking. I love this year's one, as in previous years, it makes me cry and it makes me smile - kind of like Christmas
The interesting thing is, on the face of it, they're saying you can have a great Christmas with just a few things (true)...
...and yet they want you to come in store and buy lots of enticingly arranged merchandise that shouts "Buy Me, Buy Me, Buy Me!"
So that warm, reminiscent, old-fashioned sentimentality they cultivate in potential customers converts into hard cash once they get you through the door of their store. Well, you wouldn't want to let down all the guests to whom you've promised the best Christmas ever, would you?
No need to feel guilty. Have a load of fun, just be appreciative and spare a thought for others
i know i would start crying in the street if i actually saw the real Coke lorry
