yodel..missing goods

My student daughter has saved up to buy her boyfriend some boots. Yodel tell us they have been delivered and left in the porch as a safe place, together with a card through the door. Well I have been in all day waiting for the parcel and there was no attempt at a delivery. Nothing in the porch and no card...well, I was in wasn't I. The goods value £100 and yodel tell us that a signature was not required which is why they were left in the porch...all totally unauthorized by us anyway and all totally untrue. They re investigating..we have also put in a formal complaint, and are checking with Jones the bootmaker that a signature was not necessary, as it seems quite odd.
Surely , if there was no one at home an attempt should be made to re-deliver anyway, not dumped in an open porch?
All helpful comments appreciated and I would love a complaints e mail address as even contacting them is an arm and a leg. Daughter distraught :(

Yodel mislaid a pressure washer I'd ordered from Amazon a few years ago, Amazon supplied a replacement as they employed yodel to deliver the goods. I would expect Jones the bootmaker to supply a replacement if they had arranged the delivery.

I'm assuming from what you've said that your daughter purchased them from a retailer - who have used yodel to carry out the delivery.

If that is the case, go back to the retailer. Your contract is with them and is not subject to the terms and conditions of a third party agreement (ie the agreement between retailer and yodel that allows yodel to leave items without a signature).
