No sh*t sherlock award - young people move to London says study

Apparently young people in their early 20s move to London and older people with families move away...who would have thought it?

I moved to London in after graduating in 1990 for 2 reasons:

    1. I wanted to do an MSc in project management (but subsequently proved too difficult to combine with work, as I had to negotiate time off for the course during various job interviews with prospective employers as a graduate).

    2. Rental yields seemed so high, it looked like the obvious place to go to invest in property alongside working.

I was moving to London from Newcastle as a graduate, it wasn't that the course was difficult (I did have a first class honours degree in a related subject), what proved difficult was that I wanted to do the block release option at Reading university which involved a 3 month sabbatical over 2 consecutive years. This proved problematic to negotiate at my job interviews with my preferred prospective employers. Although some did offer this flexibility, on balance I didn't want to work for them (it was more a case of me interviewing them), and I ended up choosing an employer that I thought offered me the best career prospects overall.

I was also running a business part time back then (sold now) and planning on starting a second business (which I did, and doing really well now), so time management was always going to be an issue. Particularly when combining these with my new career as a quantity surveyor, hence my preference for the block release option. On reflection though I'm really glad I didn't do the course, I definitely wouldn't change anything that I did back then in the early 90's. It was definitely the right choice to prioritise business opportunities over doing an MSc, so absolutely no regrets whatsoever. It isn't that I don't respect education (after all I am a university lecturer), its just that I much prefer being wealthy.

Responding to your signature, blunt, yes, but fair? Not really, you just jumped to the wrong conclusion, but probably understandably so, I have now edited my original post for clarity.

Why don't you just clarify what you meant?

As you can see I deleted that post, as I thought it was a bit rude and unnecessary. I'm not asking you to spoon feed me, I am asking you what you meant, yet still you won't clarify.
