I changed the APR on small print on Barclaycard application

in Credit cards
And it was accepted.
I've just had a CCJ pass it's seven year limit (for a whole £150 on a mobile phone). I've never bothered with credit as I honestly don't need it.
Anyway, the CCJ expired and I've been inundated with pre-approved credit card apps and what not so I just randomly applied for one -a BarclayCard - but before I sent it in I scribbled out part of the % APR on the back small print and changed it to 4.9%
My question is - is that now my agreement? I can't see why not surely that's the whole reason for it.
I photo'd it all too
Thanks

http://www.minyanville.com/business-news/editors-pick/articles/A-Russian-Bank-Is-Sued-for/8/7/2013/id/51205:Dmitry Agarkov said that in 2008 he received a letter from Tinkoff Credit Systems in his mailbox. It was a credit card application form with an agreement contract enclosed
[...]
Agarkov filled in the form and returned the signed application, though what he sent back was not exactly the same document the bank had sent him.
Agarkov changed some parts for his own benefit -- most notably, the small print. He opted in for a 0% APR and no fees, and added that the customer "is not obliged to pay any fees and charges imposed by bank tariffs." He also changed the URL of the site where the terms and conditions were published from https://www.tcsbank.ru to tcsbank.!!!!!!. Additionally, he added a special clause that would protect him should the bank not honor the agreement. For each unilateral change in the terms provided in the agreement, the bank would be asked to pay the customer (Agarkov) 3 million rubles (about $91,000), or a cancellation fee of 6 million rubles ($182,000).
Agarkov then sent his updated agreement to the bank, and shortly thereafter received the bank's signed and certified copy, as well as a credit card.

You and the credit card company have agreed terms, so I think the contract is valid. However, there's probably a clause in it which allows them to change the T&C and vary your interest rate.
And, of course, the T&C's have to be legal and fair.0 -
Yeh I've read that before that's why I did it. I didn't want to actual write all over it as I thought they might spot it.0
-
What is the chance that they will not be able to find your application when you complain about the rate but they will send you a reconstituted copy?
IMO any errors/corrections need to be signed by all parties for it to be valid - good luck with your new hobby.0 -
That's why I photographed it all matey.0

They have the right to terminate your credit agreement at any time. The monent you complain about the interest rate and tell them you changed the agreement is the date they will cancel your card and demand full repaymentChanging the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
-
Good luck with this one. The moment you start playing silly !!!!!!s Barclaycard will cancel the card, and I wouln't be relying on the outcome of a court case in Russia as a getout, matey.0

They may even put a CIFAS fraud marker on your account which will keep you company for many years lol0

I do. An out-of-court settlement was reached. Agarkov apparently admitted that it was all "a joke that went too far."

I do not think the details of the settlement were released at the time, even in Russian press.
I'd be very interested to know the final result, too, but I don't think it will be as much as 24000000rub.💙💛 💔0
