Hi
I applied to change from EDF to Eon because the MSE calculator said I would save 16.60 but Eon have said my new DD is only going to be £2 cheaper than my current supplier. Has this happened to anyone else ?
Provider Tariff Name Saving you… Status

£199.24 Annually
£16.60 Monthly
Switch in progress
(What does this mean?)

I find that it pays to ignore any promises regarding monthly direct debits as the monthly payment depends on how much energy you use and what the unit cost per Kwh is set at. Once you know this you can calculate the yearly cost and then divide it by 12 to get the monthly DD (from your consumption figures).
Check what the unit costs are with EDF and Eon and choose the cheapest of the two if you have not already signed up to a new supplier, although your post suggests that this is already happening - "switch in progress".0 -
As above DD are a poor guide the key is the tariff .

It means the switch is in progress through the systems of old and new supplier .0 -

It is nonsense, and not relevant to your existing tariff, if that is going to end within the next 12 months.I’m a Forum Ambassador and I support the Forum Team on the In My Home MoneySaving, Energy and Techie Stuff boards. I switched to a cheaper tariff within Scottish Power this morning. Guess what? Up went the monthly direct debit from £148 to £154. If I were to argue, they'll say it is due to the approaching peak season. You, too, I expect
Still, better than last time when the monthly DD went from £110 to £3,564!
I did argue with that one.0 -
You either pay now or in six months or nine months or whenever. You have nothing on account from summer. May as well get it over with now.0
