How do I organise my 'everything (clutter)' drawer in the kitchen?

I had to laugh at your post lamewolf. While decluttering I have come across at least a hundred key of indeterminate age and goodness knows what for! My dh likes holding on to keys. I can't risk chucking any of the small ones as I know that our window locks are all different (why???) and I know that the ones I chuck will be the ones I need to find for the new owners. Hopefully we will be moving soon so I shall be dumping a big box of my husband's clutter in front of him and letting him have a very small box beside it to put the essential stuff in.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These
(he points to some plastic cows on the table) are very small; those (pointing at some cows out of the window) are far away...:D:D

Just cleaned out my man drawer today. Very big man as I have a large cutlery tray with a smaller cutlery tray on top. The top cutlery tray has things in it that I use more often than the things in the tray underneath.
This leaves a space down one side of the drawer. Here I have some cut-down boxes made from tetra packs and plastic milk containers.
Here's some of the tat I keep in the drawer:
Rubber bands, string, elastic, tape measures, couple of rulers, coloured pens and pencils, marker pens, small brushes of various sizes (including a few washed and dried mascara wands), drawing compass (with point stuck into a cork), used stamps which I save for someone, several small pairs of scissors, two pairs of large scissors, door wedge, craft knife, stanley knife, magnet, clamp.0 -
my Nan had a drawer like that in her flat. Some of the contents of which must have dated back at least 60 years.... One of the items in that drawer was a hoof pick that my great grandfather carried in WWI ! He was a Royal Horse Artillery driver.
When we moved my Dad from that flat up to near us back in August, the drawer got pulled out and tipped into a box. Dad will go through it and toss the dross when he has time. At least he has something to occupy him in the winter!
I have two drawers, one has mobile phone chargers, co-ax cables and other wires, as well as batteries and old tv remotes. Thats the 'man' drawer as I stick things in there so that DH knows where they are.
My drawer has the less manly clutter in it, pens, pencils, rulers, erasers, small toys, keyrings, old keys, old mobile phones etc in it.
I have to keep a rein on DH in case he turns into his father. He didn't have a man drawer full of dross, he had a *garage*DFW Nerd no 239.....Last Personal Debt paid off Nov 2012!
