How do I organise my 'everything (clutter)' drawer in the kitchen?

Afternoon all.
I am sorting out my drawer in the kitchen which everyone is allowed (it's the law, honest!). I can sort out some of the bits such as batteries (in a cereal bag), rubber bands all stuck together etc.
But how do I organise the scrap paper/envelopes etc?
They take up very little space on the day I tidy the drawer, but very quickly take over the whole drawer. It isn't a very deep drawer, maybe 4".
All suggestions welcome.

Bull dog clip, I have a set of scrap paper by my house phone, I keep some by my computer and they are held together with a bull dog clip. Cheap , reusable and come in some great colours lol .
My everything drawer is organised using old take away boxes and those lovely clear boxes of chocolates the ambassador spoils us withtoday's mood is brought to you by coffee, lack of sleep and idiots.

I agree - bulldog clip. My shopping list "pad" is made up of scrap paper held with a bulldog clip. I also trim the pieces to be uniform size before adding them to the pad (a quarter of an A4 sheet - means if I get a flyer through the door that's printed on one side, I get 4 shopping list sheets out of it). This keeps it all nice and tidy.
Keep a couple of pens there, too, of course.;)
Mine live in a little basket on the table, and the rule is if either of us identifies a need for a grocery item, they jot it straight on the list.:o
I don't get either of the type of boxes Cornishchick mentions, but it's easy to cobble up a custom-sized box using an old cereal box and a bit of sellotape if you need to.:oIf your dog thinks you're the best, don't seek a second opinion.;)0 -
You don't!!! Everyone HAS to have a 'junk drawer' where all those little bits are put 'for safe keeping'. Mine has safety pins, fuses, batteries, corkscrews, rubber jar openers, freezer labels, permanent markers, pumpkin carving knives, oven thermometers, kilner jar rings, jewellery, a ruler ( goodness knows why!) tiny screwdriver, kebab skewars, broken fridge magnets awaiting repair, christmas cake ornaments, rubber bands, wine bottle corks, biros, ribbon and hair grips etc. etc. etc.
If I ever cleared it out, I wouldn't be able to find anything!!:j[DFW Nerd club #1142 Proud to be dealing with my debt:TDMP start date April 2012. Amount £21862:eek:April 2013 = £20414:T April 2014 = £11000 :TApril 2015 = £9500 :T April 2016 = £7200:T

Thanks so much. Honestly I just couldn't think, but now that you have mentioned a bulldog clip it seems bleedin' obvious! And I have a few old takeaway type containers that I bought for freezing foods but have lost their lids. Only problem is that I haven't sorted out my 'tubs' cupboard for a while. Hope it doesn't 'avalanche' on me when I go looking for them.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

I stumbled across this on Pinterest & thought it was quite a sweet way to organise a drawer"Science is a wonderful thing if one does not have to earn one's living at it" Einstein 19510

Woohoo! I just chucked one of those big egg boxes in the recycling today. I shall go and retrieve it forthwith. Fab suggestion.Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

Mum uses old ice cream tubs. Sundry spice jars in one, sticky plasters in another, it narrows the search area down a bit!0

I do use ice cream tubs in the cupboards for exactly that. The drawer is too shallow though.
I have got it beautifully organised now using an egg box and a big paper clip as I don't have a bulldog clip. Oh, and a plastic takeaway box.
Now to sort out the tubs cupboard :eek:
Suggestions anyone?Father Ted: Now concentrate this time, Dougal. These

My lunchbox cupboard is a permanent mess, they all jump out at you despite there being 2 baskets in there which they're all meant to live in!0

Get a big pair of scissors and cut the top off to the height of the drawer. If you have lots of small items you can wash out the tetra juice boxes or milk cartons, and slice them off to the height of the drawer, then all the space can be maximized. Egg boxes take up too much space, you want something that fits snugly together.
