That's the same details as the one from late September isn't it? I've been using those new sizes and weights for a few weeks now.

  • I also use MyHermes for anything bigger than Royal Mail's small parcel but a friend of mine came unstuck when an ornament was broken in transit. She hadn't realised that MyHermes and most of the other couriers don't pay compensation for fragile items such as glass or porcelain. So if you're sending anything breakable it's worth checking the T&C's of the courier service first.
  • I just received a damaged glass item via MyHermes but it wasn;t well packed. Box was too soft, only one layer of bubble and item (glass bowl) virtually touching the sides of the box. So I count that as the senders fault. No excuse when MyHermes have such generous size limits on their parcels.

RM have no publicised the new large box size very well. Many online sellers don't know about it. But it's confusing also. the higher weight
(2 Kg) only applies to 2nd class . Its not clear if the higher size only applies to 2nd class as well. I doubt many (any?) RM employees know.

Thought they'd dropped it to £20?

3rd party agents - P2go and the like - tend to give £20 but Hermes direct is £50 by default.
