NHBC/SNAGS etc

Hi,
New to the new build market so confused by it all.
We are due to complete on a new build today but have just been told the builder wont accept the retention.
Do builders normally accept a retention for snags?.
Our mortgage offer runs out today and today is the 7th day of the 10th day notice.
What exactly do NHBC do to pass an house?
For example the sink and toilet downstairs are not plumbed in. In my naivety we put a retention value forward to our solicitor for this and other snags such as uneven electrical sockets, door handles broke, unsealed bath and sink in main bathroom, stiff windows, ungrouted areas etc, unpainted doors, skirting etc. There are smaller items like paint splatters etc, no tops of doors painted etc but these are livable.
The solicitors words were that all snags will be completed by end of business today. OH has just been to site and their is no plumber onsite, no electrician orno tiler.
We could try to extend but with our offer running out today, is this an option?
Have we lost £10,000 of upgrades? We can get deposit back via the longstop date.
The site supervisor that is in the next house has said that they will not be able to get the larger items completed today.

who suggested the retention? the warranty will cover .Don't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

So the warranty will cover the toilet not being plumbed in today.
The hob etc not wired in?
I thought the 10 years warranty was for the likes of leaks afterwards etc.0 -
no, I would read the warranty, lots of exclusions but yes builders will fixDon't put your trust into an Experian score - it is not a number any bank will ever use & it is generally a waste of money to purchase it. They are also selling you insurance you dont need.0

Its's normal to have a snagging list when you move into a new house. Builders wont accept a retention. They are responsible for defects from the day you complete your purchase for 24 months. The NHBC warranty runs concurrently from that date also for a period of 10 years.
Builders will get snaggibg done. There is no reason for them not to.Eat vegetables and fear no creditors, rather than eat duck and hide.0
