is it acceptable to offer a less amount?

Right, read alot of posts on here regarding the new craze of stealing money from the public (parking fines).
I have been a firm believer of just ignoring them, but recently 2 notices have arrived back and they are wanting £100 and are members of the BPA.
Is it acceptable for me to send a amount that I see as reasonable?? Eg) £30 each?????
Just want advice really lol,
Thanks, appreciate any reply x

It's generally acceptable to send £0.00, although the parking companies don't see it that way. Read the Newbies thread to find out how it works.
If you send them a lesser amount without having argued the toss extensively with them first they will see it as a sign of weakness on your part and will hassle you aggressively for the remainder.Je suis Charlie.0 -

Isn't your £30 just a figure plucked out of the air like their £100?
Your £30 will be rejected, just as their £100 should be by you!0 -
You can send me £30 if you want.
No?
Well why send it to a different stranger asking for money, just because they sent you a letter (not a fine)?

I have been a firm believer of just ignoring them,
This is not new - Its been going-on for years.
Ignoring ceased to be an option in many situations in England and Wales two years ago. You need to read the Newbies Sticky to get yourself up to date.0 -
If you're going to offer £30 per ticket then you might as well use parkingticketappeals.co.uk for £16 per ticket and a guaranteed result. I still prefer the £0.00 approach which is also an easy win.0

Thanks for the replys, I never usually correspond with these theives, but these certain tickets are members of Bpa so didn't know wether to continue to use planned ignoring tactics or actually do something about it, can't be bothered with ccj against my name from a bogus pcn0

Forget the BPA. It's not a regulator it's just a private member's club financed by the parking "profession", nothing more. What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?0

To avoid a CCJ your plan should be either:
1) Appeal yourself (cost £0) with help from sticky threads here
2) Pay parkingticketappeals £16 to appeal for you
Incidentally, the BPA is just a collective name for these 'thieves'. It is a limited company run by members of parking companies. It refuses to act against members who break the code of conduct and so the whole sham is exposed.Dedicated to driving up standards in parking0 -
What companies? Most of them are pretty toothless, it's all just bluff and bluster. There's only a handful who try to take things further than a few silly letters.Je suis Charlie.0

You've clearly not read the Newbies thread have you ? I suggest you do so and put your purse away ! CCJ indeed :rotfl:"The darkest places in hell are reserved for those who maintain their neutrality in times of moral crisis." - Dante Alighieri0
