Do you mean PIP or contribution based ESA?

I presume you no longer need the extra care or mobility needs. If thats not the case can I ask why you did not make a fresh claim before as its well known the waiting list is so long for reassessments. I suggest you call them rapidly & see what they suggest. i would also ask why you were not invited to reapply.
  • Mine runs out in October next year and I've just sent back another questionnaire that they sent me. So a whole year still left to run on my current claim.

Must be said though, if they didn't send it I wouldn't know I had to reapply myself if I wasn't a regular on various forums.

I'd call them ASAP to ask what to do.
  • Seems odd as you get DLA forms for claim 3 months plus before expiry. As PIP replaces DLA surely it would be the same process. Or as there is such a long delay in processing current claims even longer.
  • Hi All, my PIP was awarded until July 2014. I was sent a renewal questionnaire 3 months ago - which was promptly returned - last week had a letter saying sorry for the delay, we now have all of the information we need and will contact you shortly. I have assumed that it is a standard notification letter to let you know that they have not forgotten you. Not panicking yet, as still a while to go - but will keep you all updated.
  • My apologies, aparrently ive been on Contribution based employment and support allowance and it runs out Dec 10th.

That's the letter they send once your file is with the decision maker so looks like you won't be called for an assessment, they're making a decision based purely on what you sent in with your renewal. Pretty quick turn around too if this is the case.

Have a read of number 14 in this link and come back if you have any further questions.

If you don't have a working partner and or savings above £16,000 then you will be entitled to income related ESA.
