Hello all,
So I've been approved for a Sainsburys credit card. Whoop! Now they're asking for one ORIGINAL proof of identity and an original proof of address too.
I have never had to send an original proof of identity to get a credit card before, is this normal practice? It seems insane. It recommends sending them recorded delivery, but I'm going on holiday in two weeks and I'm reluctant as hell to send my passport through the post (it's my only form of ID).
Is this legit?

Get certified copies. You can probably do this at a local police station, Post Office or perhaps a local bank branch.0

It's not unusual if they are having trouble verifying your identity. For example if you moved recently or you are not on the electoral roll.Changing the world, one sarcastic comment at a time.0
