Carpet cleaning!

I recently hired a company to clean my carpet. It didn't take them long and looked patchy but they assured me that I'd was just because the carpet was damp.
However, it's now 4days later and it's still patchy with dark patches all over it.
I called the company and they said they've never had company's before so it must be my carpet!
They won't come back and look at it and they won't give me a refund. I'm really annoyed about this! Do I have any sort of recourse?
