financial disassociation problem

Hi everyone,

My wife and I shared a joint account since 2012 and live together at the same address. We closed this joint account one month ago.

Recently, we contact Experian to ask financial disassociation. The reply what we got from Experian is below:

I am contacting the company concerned for you because I can't amend the information without their consent. I'll let you know what they say as soon as they get back to me.

I'm also adding our standard dispute statement to this information, which will appear shortly:

"The consumer has disputed the accuracy of this entry and we have therefore asked the provider to investigate it. Given that this data is disputed, please take care if making an assessment of any kind that may include this data."

As a result, anyone viewing this information will be aware that it's being disputed.

why is that difficult to remove this financial association from credit report after the joint account has been closed?

Please someone help me!

Mank thanks

Premsumably it was the only joint account you had?

Does your file definitely show the account is closed? if it was only closed a month ago it perhaps hasn't filtered through yet.

    Thanks Tixy,

Yes, We had only one joint account, that's it.
By the way, how long will take for the update filtering through it?

Trying to disassociate yourself from someone you are still married to and reside with in the same property is bound to raise suspicions. Not least as to your motives. For very obvious reasons.

    Hi Helloyi621,

We can financially disassociate you form another inidividual, even if you are married or share an address, as long as you have no active joint accounts.

From what you have said it looks like a joint account was still showing as active, so we have contacted the company to see if this is correct.

If the company confirms that the joint account has been closed, and as long as there are no other active joint accounts then we would be able to proceed with the financial disassociation.

If you would like me to check this for you, and see how the query we have raised fo you is progressing email your details to me and I will be happy to help.

    Regards
    Neil
