What do you mean, low mileage car? I have always thought I got a good amount of miles per tank for it especially since I do short journeys.
Lots of short trips where engine doesn't get hot is bad for engines.
A 10 year old car with 10k miles could have a more worn engine than one with 100k.0 -

2,000 miles a year and concerned about MPG. That's V8 mileage.

Sorry you wrote earlier your rear tyres were changed last year and you've done 2,000 miles on them.
I wrongly assumed your car had done 2,000 miles in the same time. Do you sometimes drive with no rear tyres?

I only take the car to work, if I am finishing late at night and don't want to walk home.
My point about that, is that I am fine if the roads are too icy because I can and DO walk to work
