Any dictaphone suggestions. Something that I can easily have to hand to record conversations, preferably so I can record phone calls as well. Haven't looked into it much but just recently it would have been useful for phone conversations and real life ones in terms of proving people have lied, gone back on their promise etc. Not looking for legal advice (before we get the moral brigade posting ) just suggestions for good voice recorders/dictaphones that can be ued for phones as well and some places to start from in researching them.

A lot of mobile phones can record their conversations. I know my Sony K800i can do it
There are also devices that you can plug into your phone line that would do the same job - you will have to legally notify the other caller you are recording them though0 -
I've recorded on my mobile before, that's not the issue. Not talking about mobiles, but landlines and has to take into account may be using different phones, some cordless and also actual conversations off the phone as well."She is quite the oddball. Thanks but I already know the law and I'm posting on the techie board for techie solutions."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I know Lidl have Olympus Dictaphones as one of their "specials". It costs £14.99 and comes with a 15min tape.
However, a digital one would be better which then allows you to easily transfer the sound file for storage on your computer.Lack of money is the root of all evil.

The post was mainly about actual voice recording with telephone being an advantage and the phones I'm talking about don't have a recording facility.
I'd like to use it for notetaking as well but it seems that my OP wasn't a sensible enough question for some people."She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

Ok I'll try and make it simpler so I don't get off topic answers. What's a good dictaphone for conversations/meetings and notetaking?"She is quite the oddball. Did you notice how she didn't even get excited when she saw this original ZX-81?"

I see you havnt heard that joke have you?
Do you use a dictaphone (say it out loud)
No I use my finger like everyone else.
Personally I used to use a minidisk recorder with a digital stereo mic but there are not many of them about now. Argos use to sell them casio and olympus moved in on them.0 -
I have a sony digital dictaphone - had it for a couple of years. It can record up to 5 hours, and has folders so that you can store the various sections separately. It did cost me a bit, but then I need it for a varieties of notes, and it serves me well.Be careful who you open up to. Today it's ears, tomorrow it's mouth.0

Superscaper have a look at the Argos site put Digital Recording in the search box on the site, looks to be some good gear on there.0
