Credit Card Loyalty Schemes - Tesco or House of Fraser?

Options
Hello All

I do hope I am in the correct forum - this is all new to me!

I am trying to establish which is the better credit card loyalty scheme between Tesco's Clubcard Points and House of Fraser's Recognition points.

I love the fact that I receive 'cash' vouchers from House of Frazer to spend in their store, but having converted some of my Clubcard points into Christmas gifts this year, literally giving double the value I'm wondering whether I should be using my Tesco credit card for all of my expenditure, but I just can't work it out!

Please help!

Incidentally, I ALWAYS pay off the full balance of my credit cards and so it is only the loyalty scheme aspect of each provider that I am interested in.

Thanks so much in advance!

Don't know about HoF, but Tesco's scheme is pretty much worthless. It's just 0.25 extra point per £1 spent, i.e. 0.025% cashback without the points price boost.
  • Many thanks for your speedy reply Grumbler.

Goodness me - I must have been going some to have collected so many Tesco points then if that is the low rate!

    It's extra 0.25p/1£
You are getting 1p/£1 without a credit card - simply with your clubcard.
  • ah ok - then that makes a bit more sense as the clubcard is attached to the credit card - I don't use the clubcard on its own usually ... unless I pay using HoF and then swipe Tesco credit card for points only - that way I take advantage of both deals.

I used to be able to settle the HoF card bill by using the Tesco credit card and then pay off the Tesco credit card bill in full, but sadly HoF no longer allow this (don't actually know how they did in the first place if I'm honest - a credit card paying off a credit card?!).

    Thanks again.
