On a similar note, I was staying at the Birmingham airport Ibis hotel a couple of weeks ago. In front of the hotel there is a lay-bay where (according to APCOA) nobody is allowed to stop, even for a second. Parked just across the road (at the entrance to a multistory car-park) was an APCOA camera van with its camera pointed at this lay-by hoping to snap any car stopping in front of the hotel.

The APCOA goon could have got out of the van, walked across the road and stationed himself outside the hotel to tell motorists not to stop. That's called mitigation of losses. But, of course, that would not have resulted in the issuing of any of their fake fines.

I forgot to add that LateRooms.com state on their website:-
Drop off facilities are available immediately outside even though APCOA state you can't.
What part of "A whop bop-a-lu a whop bam boo" don't you understand?

Makes you wonder what the lay-by is actually there for.

You may find if you disregard stereotyping that it would be more likely to lose its wheels in Manchester! ;)

Given my family hail from the Everton Valley, and my Partner hail from Stockport area, I can't necessarily agree with you.

  • And, for the record, VCS has chickened out of having their PCN at JLA tested - no PCN has been served on me (RK) within 14 days.
  • That's a shame. Your friend may be needing to borrow your car again...

  • I haven't had an ANPR PCN since ParkingEye whitelisted my previous car in November 2013.

F1rst were stupid enough to issue me an NtD on a public road in January this year.

I get the impression my name is well known...

  • I am lending my car out regularly though, and assisting with a court case a month on average.
