Parking at notts QMC

Got appointment at 11 today so go onsite for 10.40. I'm still queueing for an effing space at 11.50. Almost got to one car park only for the attendant to move everyone on to car park 3! Supposed to be going to the fertility clinic, this is gonna be one angry w**k.

  • Same experience last week (apart from the angry w**K)

I had an appointment at 9:20. Got to the carpark at 8:50 and finally parked at 10:40 in car park 3, which is as far away as possible from the main entrance.

As I have a spinal injury, it took almost 40 minutes to walk to the hospital, meaning I arrived at 11:20. Two hours late.

Luckily I had called the spinal unit ahead of time and they just said "It happens all the time, just get here when you can". The staff at the clinic were fabulous as was the poor car park attendant.

What makes me really mad was having to drive past the treatment centre (also NHS) which had a huge empty car park and a jobsworth at the entrance not letting anyone in.

    Enjoy the angry (W**k)

    It's someone else's fault.
  • I was trying to understand why you asterisked 'week'.....
  • Too late now but there's a free Medilink bus from the Park & Ride at Clifton Bridge. It goes to QMC and Nottingham City Hospital and runs every 10 minutes or so.

Cheers, nurse pointed it out too, found a space about 15 mins after I posted. Thought of getting a bus makes me shudder, but I can't face another hour or so wait to park.

Back there again next week for part 2. Worst part is the waiting area is right next to 'the room', which was full of people looking at me grumpily when I came out (pun intended) no doubt thinking I'd spent an hour or so enjoying myself in there.

The Treatment Centre is privately run, although it does have NHS contracts. The "jobsworth" was stopping you from entering private property. You wouldn't park on someone's private driveway, would you?

Parking is also available at Wilkinson Street. It amazes me how many people choose to bring cars to QMC when there are far easier options available.

If you don't mind a half a mile walk there's always on road parking at Adams hill which is between qmc island and priory island.

Yes, if I could pay for the priveledge. As its privately run then they have missed a potentially lucrative revenue stream. Unusual for one of the sponging PPI firms....
