I subscribed to the last offer of 12 issues for £1 and decided that as I have benefited from this on a couple of occasions previously, I would let the renewal run for a while - must be mellowing in my old age;)

For any of you wondering if your subscription has been cancelled/suspended, I have received 3 issues in the past week or so (including the Christmas one), so presumably you should have received the same.

yes I have done the £1 'deal' for RT a few times. Like you I thought the 6 month deal was good, (think it was 26 issues for £22.99 at the time), so let it run for a while after feeling a little guilty of ripping them off on the £1 deal all the time. They then increased it to full price about £48 without warning me in advance as required by the DD guarantee. Got my money back from my bank under the DD guarantee but be careful, as they're obviously no angels themselves !

Have no qualms now about going for this £1 deal and cancelling the DD before it ends. Will do so again. They are obviously getting a bit wise to this so best to use a different email address/bank account/member of your household if you can.

ps. i've found if you leave cancelling your DD close to when the second payment is due, you can benefit from an extra couple of issues.

I have tried this again re your post and I have now managed to order 12 for £1.

I have an Order Acknowledgement email saying, "Thank you for placing your order with us. It is currently being processed and a confirmation email containing all of the details of your order will be sent to you within 24 hours."

But bear in mind it can be cancelled as has happened on a previous occasion, and this paragraph in their T&C's, (my highlighting), https://www.buysubscriptions.com/website-terms

    "Trial Offers

On occasions we may offer short term trial subscriptions for customers paying by Direct Debit e.g. 12 issues for £1. At the end of this trial subscription, the price you pay will revert back to the then current standard subscription price. We reserve the right to reject or cancel subscriptions at any point if the customer has previously cancelled their subscription during the trial period for that magazine."

and also today 2 Jan 2015
  • RTG5214A - worked today -4th January
  • RTG0215A I think this is a new code. Code was on a postcard inside an issue of Radio Times. Says 'offer must end Friday 30th January 2015 and open to new subscribers only' but worth a punt
