Scottish Power HomeComfort Overcharging
Hi,
Between Feb 2013 and Feb 2014 I took out HomeComfort Boiler Care for £12.50 a month. Everything went fine and I didn't have to call them out once but at the end of the cover they where to raise the cost to £17, I found someone else (Npower £15). I called them and told them that I did not want to continue with their policy because I was going with another provider. I didn't think anything more of it but a few months later I noticed I was still being charged by Scottish Power. I called them again, they said sorry, it was an error on there part and that they would refund me but it would take a few months to reach my account. Naively I believed them but noted to check a few months later. Nothing happened so in May 2014 I gave them a call to see what was going on. That started my next 6 months of calls, emails and receiving more broken promises then I care to remember. Now they have finally said that they are not going to pay the two months they overcharged me, they're reason was that it was my fault as I should have cancelled the direct debit. I've had enough, I'm not going to waste any more time on this. I know, they won but there's only so much I can take. I am however, very interested if this has happened to anyone else? I wonder if I'm not alone and if this is actually quite a nice little earner for Scottish Power, or even if they are the only one? If you've had a similar experience I'd love to hear from you
