Finding General Sales Stats

Hi,

I have an online website selling items and I was looking at my sales figures for the last couple of years and analysing certain aspects. I started to think about what trends other people and if there is an online resource of stats about sales online or even on the highstreet. Just to provide a general comparison.

My trend is: July and August are my quietest months, in Sept things start to ramp up towards Christmas and by November everything is nuts carrying on into Jan sale time and then just normal sales until the summer obviously some peaks and dips specific to what I sell/holidays/occasions but there is a definite general trend there and has been the last few years.

Anyone else find this? Anyone know any good stat sites about this or in general?

Thanks
