Best browser for Vista?

I am using IE9 and want to change the browser. Can anyone recommend the best alternative. I am not very techie minded and would like a browser easy to install and use. I would be very grateful for any help. Thanks.

All browsers are easy to install and use.
Maybe Chrome would suit you - https://www.google.com/chrome/ - it automatically updates itself so you've always got the latest version.

    Hung up my suit!
Firefox is best IMO. I use both but Chrome always tends to get my CPU doing overtime !!! I'm suspicious of Google.... ;)

I recommend also putting ABP on your Firefox which blocks annoying pop-ups.

Also MVPS hosts file unless you use quidco/topcashback etc (you need to mess too much) also Noscript is a must IMHO.

    Then use Chromium...
  • Up until yesterday I was using Google Chrome on my Vista laptop and had been doing so for about two years with hardly a problem. I found IE9 very slow and clunky with Vista.

I say until yesterday as I have just bought a new laptop which has the horrible Windows 8.1. But Chrome runs fine on it now I've set the thing up to run like Vista with the help of ClassicShell.

  • I personally prefer Firefox for all the addons that I use. Chrome is also very good for customizing and Opera is usually light and fast. All good browsers though.
