Halifax balance transfer process

Morning All,

First post so please be gentle.

I have recently applied online for the Halifax 33 month 0% balance transfer card. I was asked to take proof of address and ID in to my local branch which I did at the end of October (29th). The lady at the podium in branch photocopied the documents and stated that they would handle everything and send to the online applications department.

Fast forward to Saturday 8th November. I received a text message from Halifax advising that I have 12 days to take my documents in to a branch. I called the Halifax credit card department on Monday, after being passed around a bit a lady said that she would need to speak to the branch and call me back. Unfortunately she was not able to get through to the branch and advised that the branch would need to call me. No call as yet.

My questions are; has anyone experienced the Halifax balance transfer process? Did you have any issues with documents being taken in to a branch and not being sent on? How long did the process take?

I'm hoping that the paperwork is just working through their system but I'm considering going in to the branch on Saturday to chase this up.

Any comments much appreciated.

I opened a Halifax CC about 4 months ago and balance transferred no problem. I wasn't required to take any documents or ID into branch but presume that's because I'm an existing Lloyds customer.

It turns out that the application team haven't received the documents from the branch so it's another trip out for me on Saturday. The call centre were very helpful today though.
