Argos card is a store card... can only use in their shop or store (& Homebase as it part of argos)...
So pointless taken it back as i cant prove i didnt negected it... oh well waste of money
You must give it a go and put your complaint forward, don`t just give up, it was obviously not fit for purpose and the 12 month guarantee or warranty must still be valid. Also show them what proof of purchase you have even if it is just a statement, they will have a system of getting a breakdown of what you purchased exactly, so hold onto that. You still may be eligable for a replacement but get a better model, or spend it on something else if they don`t do a better known brand.
You still have consumer rights on store cards, even if you contact them directly.
    Good luck

As the purchase is over 6 months old, the onus is on OP to prove the fault was inherent before Argos have to do anything, regardless of how he paid.

Manufacturer's warranty is completely separate from Argos and would need to be pursued with the manufacturer.

That said, I've always found Argos good at replacing anyway.

And that's just it ... this whole thread is simply speculation and banter until OP comes back and says Argos didn't want to know (in store).
  • Have we had the mash up yet?
  • I had something similar with an Argos item; they were great. Thread link here - I went through customer services:
