help can they do this!!

hi i have just registered with this site today as i need some help.i have been reading about other peoples stories which spurred me on to try and reclaim back some charges on mine and my partners account.
I started with both our claims in april and have had both our replies today.i was claiming £1500 from hsbc and have been offered £1250 so im really pleased with that however although my partners got a really good offer(he was claiming £1800 from natwest and the offer is £1900 ??)i cant help but feel hes been stitched up!!
Whilst the claim has been going on he was late by 11 days in paying for a laon account so they froze his current account(a bit extreme i thought)and said they wanted us to repay the loan amount in full as this is approx £6000 we were not in a position to do this and have made another arrangement basically paying the same amount each month but on a different day.
After reading in his offer letter that the money will be put in his account i promptly phoned the number on the top of the letter to ask if he could be paid by check the lady said no it will go into his account and the money will instantly be paid off the balance of his loan i spoke to someone else at credit management that said the same thing.we are really gutted and feel that this is the reason the account was frozen in the first.It may come across that were ungrateful and should be happy that nearly £2000 will be paid off the account but we really need the money right now for more urgent bills(very urgent).
is there anything we can do about this i would be grateful for any advice xx

The only way you will get a cheque is by suing the bank but the debt will still be outstanding with NatWest.

Sadly this is the way the banks are, I appreciate you need the money now but what you need to look at is the fact you can eliminate other debt quicker.

See it the way I did, you never thought you would see it again so if you do have £2k knocked off a debt its a bonus
