do you have cash in a purse for the week or month. Or do you pay by card for your shopping. Whats the best way ?

Definately better with cash as you can see it and dont go over the allowance. I find it hard as I do a box scheme and its taken as a direct debit and this throws me out!0

I usually do card payments and always seem to go over budget!!!
When I do a shop in Lidl and have to pay by cash, I am much better at sticking to budget.
Wonder why I don't pay by cash all the time :rolleyes:working on clearing the clutterDo I want the stuff or the space?0

I get enough cash out at the weekend to (hopefully) see me through the week. Enough for food shopping/paper bill/milkman. Most of my other purchases are made online - after price checking etc - and I use debit card in preference to credit card."Cheap", "Fast", "Right" -- pick two.0

Prefer working with cash myself, that way I can see what I have left etc rather than putting it on my debit card and counting the cost later. Even if I pay with the card if I forget grocery purse, or if I order online, I take the cash out of the purse now to put back what I have spent which I find helps but I do spend more. Weird isn't it.One day I might be more organised...........

Yeah I get the lot out on payday and put it in a seprate 'shopping purse' well actually its an old wallet of my OH's as I dont mind carrying a wallet but he didnt like carrying a purse and we often share the shopping!0

I use my Tesco credit card which has a very low limit for my food puchases. That way I collect points no matter where I shop and I find it easy to control - but if you struggle sticking to a budget then definitely I would say get cash out on a weekly basis (or use the jam jar system ) DFW Nerd #025DFW no more! I usually shop on my debit card but last week I had to use cash that was in my purse as I didn't have enough to even take £10 out of my account
But I actually saved myself about £10 by paying with cash as I knew that I couldn't go over and I had change left :T
I'll definatley be shopping with cash in future.0

I use cash these days - I hate the way some shops dont 'cash' your payment for a day or 5 .........I THINK is a whole sentence, not a replacement for I KnowSupermarket Rebel No 19:T0

so that i stick to my shopping budget i have a credit card with only a £200 limit so i can't go over it. but if i want any cash for anything i just take some out our account.0
