Late Payment on credit report

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me.

I bank with first direct, and had insufficient funds to cover a payment to my mobile phone provider. As soon as I realised that the payment didn't go through, I called my phone provider and made a payment over the phone with a different payment method. I have checked my credit report today and this has flagged up as a late payment on my first direct account, and having disputed this with them they have said that they have to report any late payments.

Does anybody know how I can get this removed from my credit file?!

Thank you..

Max

On a current account a '1' marker indicates your bank has bounced/rejected a payment or payments.

They are able to remove it if they wish to, so its worth trying again to ask them to consider removing it as a gesture of goodwill (some banks quite often will if this is an isolated incident/first offence).

If they won't remove it then as time goes by it will have a reducing impact on your ability to get credit, just ensure that it doesn't happen again.

Not a late payment. The bank had to bounce a direct debit. This will be of interest to other providers of credit.
