Late Payment on credit report

Hello, I was wondering if anyone could help me.
I bank with first direct, and had insufficient funds to cover a payment to my mobile phone provider. As soon as I realised that the payment didn't go through, I called my phone provider and made a payment over the phone with a different payment method. I have checked my credit report today and this has flagged up as a late payment on my first direct account, and having disputed this with them they have said that they have to report any late payments.
Does anybody know how I can get this removed from my credit file?!
Thank you..
Max

On a current account a '1' marker indicates your bank has bounced/rejected a payment or payments.
They are able to remove it if they wish to, so its worth trying again to ask them to consider removing it as a gesture of goodwill (some banks quite often will if this is an isolated incident/first offence).
If they won't remove it then as time goes by it will have a reducing impact on your ability to get credit, just ensure that it doesn't happen again.A smile enriches those who receive without making poorer those who giveor "It costs nowt to be nice"0 -

Not a late payment. The bank had to bounce a direct debit. This will be of interest to other providers of credit.0
