I'm Feeling Very Much Alone

I had an account with Abbey. Started the process of Reclaiming My Bank Charges. The Court threw out my case without a hearing.

Originally I paid £80 to cover Court Fees. Being 68 years old and on Benefits including Housing and Council Tax I have now found out that I did not need to pay this.

Now the Courts want me to pay more money if I want to ask the Courts to consider my case again.

As I can't afford to pay out any more money, does this mean Abbey have won?

I sent a letter to Abbey asking them to pay me £795 that they owe me. And I suggested that they use the money to clear my overdraft and send me a cheque for the balance. Their response was to send me a letter saying they were looking at my complaint and it may take four to six weeks to complete their investigation.

Having sent 2 PM's to Martin and getting no response - I feel I am out of my depth and don't know which way to turn now. Can anybody please advise me?

    go to the court with proof of your benefits,including housing and council benefit.explain the situation.they MIGHT refund what you've already paid but you should be able to have it reconsidered again for free.dont wait.restart the action NOW.do you need help filling the forms?age concern or CAB should(hopefully) be able to help you.good luck

    I would agree that you should restart your claim. Go to CAB or Age Concern for help You do not say why your claim was thrown out This is unusual it may be that you were not accurate. So pay attention to detail. I am not great with terminiology and detail but I managed and got a settlement of over £ 5000 off Nat west So it can be done You do need to look at the threads and posts on here.
