IMHO don't go for the cheap diy store systems.

I have used the Infinite Prime system a few times for both myself and for others I have installed it for, never had any comeback at all. The systems are fully expandable and there are plenty of accessories you can add to the system. Google is your friend to find the best price and package.

ADT ones are ok but you pay an extortionate price for it to be a monitored system when you can get auto dialler's for the above system that will do exactly the same job. Likewise on the maintenance side, all you need is to change the batteries as and when the system needs them doing and you wont get any problems.

  • I have, just today, bought and fitted a Yale HSA6400 system, which was bought from Screwfix for £160, so thought I'd share my experience.

So far, it has all been very positive. The system came with a very good set of instructions, although was actually quite intuitive if you're a fairly technically minded. I took my time, and it probably took me between 2 and 3 hours to install, from opening the box to setting the first alarm off. Would agree with the previous poster, the monitored systems seems an unnecessary expense, when you can hook this system up to a phone line.

I've not lived with it for long yet, but all seems good. Probably not the most sophisticated system, but for the price you can't go far wrong.
