Contractor problem

I recently moved into a new rented flat. As a new property there are several snags which still need sorting out. One of these was the door of the built in freezer which was damaged and needed replacing.
I made arrangements for them to come in one friday and replace this and as I was going away for the weekend I left the keys with the building concierge for them to collect and return.
I returned on the monday to find the door replaced but the freezer turned off - and it's contents defrosted and rotten. None of it was salvageable.
Since then I've contacted both the landlord and the builder for whom the contractor was working in order to get someone to take responsibility (cost of replacing food was £100+) and the response has been simply - tough.
I'm fuming that no one seems to care about this.
What are my rights?
Contents insurance won't cover if the freezer was turned off.

House repair and kitchen refit Restoration & Refurbishment
Hi *
I called and left you a message to let you know that the bathroom pipes have been leaking again. I would like to speak with you directly and agree what is going to be done. This will be the 5th time we're asking you to correct which indicates whatever is being done to fix it is not working, or the goods are faulty and need replaced. We can also agree what work you are going to carry out to correct the roof. I attach pictures again, and also pictures of the 5th reoccurrence of the bathroom leak.
Under the Supply of goods and services act, it is stated that...
It is my belief that the work on the roof has not been carried out with reasonable care and skill on the basis that it has been re-laid with some broken tiles and laid in such a way there remains visible gaps to which driving rain can get in. It is my belief that the goods used on the bathroom are not fit for purpose on the basis that you have worked to fix the leak 4 times and it continually reoccurs.
This is my 5th attempt at asking your to repair. If I don't hear from you by 5pm Monday 3rd I will seek alternative quotes from, provide you with these quotes for transparency, and instruct the work to be rectified at your cost.
Thank you, I look forward to hearing from you.
Xxxx xxxx

HB2 Group Limited's reply:
We have taken £2,250 so far for a job that was quoted at £5,700. Mr xxxx Xxxxxxx of xxxxxxxxxvxxxhas been unreasonable and threatening towards HB2 Staff leaving no alternative than to cancel the remaining work. We have photo evidence of all work before and after and written proof of my above claim. Mr Xxxxxxx is apparently know for doing this on 'my builder' as he owns a number of properties and tries to exploit small firms. Mr Xxxxxxx knows a bad report on this site is detrimental and has tried to blackmail us into carrying on working for him in return for him removing this comment! What Mr Xxxxxxxfailed to mention is that we have done a number of jobs on his behalf all to an excellent standard.0 -

How big is this built in freezer in this flat? ;£100+ for defrosted food, I have a chest freezer, a tall freezer and one half of an American fridge freezer and I honestly don't think all of it together comes to £100...maybe they think your trying it on.:whistle:0 -
Hollydays....there are some of the Ops personal details in your previous post.:)
Hi-thanks- that review isn't the ops- but another dissatisfied customer- I took out the dissatisfied customers own companies details myself as the company was trying to shame them-but I will remove that other part thanks0
