PS3 Online Play Help

:mad: Can anyone help me out here?
I bought a Belkin G Wireless Router as I have my PS3 in the same room as my PC, now I connected it up last night & managed to get the router working & I managed to get my PS3 to detect the wireless router, now my problem lies in on-line gameplay as I have tried to play some games on-line & it state's that I require to update my PS3 by updating the System Settings, now I have tried this on numerous occasions sa it seems that the PS3 has updated to Firmware 1.90 but when I try to update this it seems to stop at between 1 & 10% at every occasion can anyone help me understand what I am doing wrong as I am dying to play on-line!!:mad:

have you tried connecting to the router via wires to get the update?0
