    I had forgotten it was rented accommodation. To be honest, you should forget testing and buying second alarms, just tell the landlord to have if checked professionally now.
  • Reading between the lines, it seems you are in a flat or something within a multi occupancy building. Are any of your neighbours flues close to your windows or air vents etc. Just a thought.
