Holiday Autos

I recently went on a trip with my son to Milan and hired a car from GoldCar Rentals via Holiday Autos. When I collected the car it was full of fuel and when I returned it I ensured it was also full of fuel. I was pretty surprised then that Holiday Autos charged me £25 as an "administration fee" for the fuel I did NOT use. It states in their contract that an administration fee applies but it does not state how much that is - surely this is illegal ? The service from this company and its total disregard to its customers is shocking - avoid a all costs !!!

Are you sure the charge hasn't come from Gold Car and not Holiday Autos?
  • Hi,
I used to work for Holiday Auto's. The only money you pay to them is for the car hire, & additional others like car seats, additional drivers.
The £25 was probably taken by Gold car

I suggest that the OP puts Goldcar into the Forum Search box or just clicks here

We usually use Holiday Autos and haven't had a problem.
It's your money. Except if it's the governments.
  • Thanks - yes it was Gold Car that effectively took the money but my contract is with Holiday Autos not Gold Car - they are an agent. I think they should be reported to Trading Standards - surely you cannot simply say a fee is chargeable without stating how much that fee is !!
