Cleaning film residue from new windows

Hi all,
We've had new double glazing installed a month or so ago. Usually first thing in the morning and last thing at night, especially when it's cold, we notice that the outside of the windows appear to "fog up". The fog covers the entire window apart from about one inch from the edge. It's pretty obvious that it is the residue from when film was peeled from the windows when they were installed.
Does anyone have any recommendations how to clean this properly? A typical rub down with soapy water did absolutely nothing.
Thank you.

Meths is usually pretty good at getting rid of most oily / greasy / sticky stuff. Give it a good rub with neat meths, then rinse off with clean water.0

Try using methylated spirit, surgical spirit or white spirit or WD40...they will all make removing "sticky" residues easier - followed by warm soapy water.0
