Help with utility bills?

Hi,
I currently live at home, and am looking to move out but I have no idea how much anything would cost, i.e. gas, electric, water. I would be living in a 1 bedroom flat so just asking if any of you have any advice, or if you know roughly how much it would cost?

Thanks x

This website offers some average figures: http://www.under-one-roof.org.uk/Cost+of+a+new+home/Water,+gas+and+electricity+costs.aspx

No-one can really provide an accurate estimate because the costs depend on many factors e.g. where you're going to live, the energy provider, how much energy you're likely to use.
  • Whilst the above is true.

I am a single occupant although I live in a two bed flat.

My water rate on meter was setup as24£ a month when I moved in. This is pretty accurate to what I use.

I only have electricity so no gas etc. in the summer and up until about two weeks back before the weather turned my electricity bill was 28-32£ per month. This goes back as far as April. I am with Eon and they set me up on a direct debit of 54£ a month when I moved in.

Clearly I'm using less, but as winter moves in my energy use will increase. The 54£ is thought to average out over the year.

Remember you may have sevice charges for living in a flat. Communal space etc. you may also have to pay additional costs for parking spaces. Council tax is also worth considering!
