Should I get curtains?

Definitely get curtains, frilly and pink is best with a matching lampshade.0

thanks for all your replies guys.
I have been looking around at curtain poles, and its all very confusing. So many times. wood vs metal, extendable ones.
Riche from the Boro you said pleat track. I thought this was a method of hanging a curtain, but its just a design right.
Not convinced about pink curtains. :-)0 -
I'd go with metal poles over wooden ones. We've got both and the curtains open and close much easier with metal poles especially heavier weight curtains. I make all my curtains and line and interline them and they make a huge difference to heat retention. But you can buy thermal linings which hook onto the curtain tape of your curtains using curtain hooks.0

Metal poles it is then :-) any views on extendable ones vs ones you simply cut to length?0

Get curtains miles too wide for you windows, all the folds will help to keep the heat in and the cold out.
Each single curtain should be wider than the whole measurement of the window and more xmake the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
and we will never, ever return.0 -

Hubby's always cut them to length. I always like at least a foot longer on each side so you can pull them back to let maximum light in and also better for heat retention.0 -
Thanks HorseyGirl I think I will bare that in mind. RE: cutting.
Curtains miles to wide, coming up... well shortly. Thanks all I will getthese sorted shortly. Looking forward to reducing energy bills and doing my bitfor the environment.
I will go for good curtains, which I can take with me when I finally get myown house.

I got all the curtains up. Very expensive for lined quality ones. However, sets the rooms ups treat and I must be saving energy now. Still using about 6-10 units a day on heating water and home a day.0

Right another curtain related question.
During the day even in this weather is it best to leave the curtains shut to keep the warmth in or open to try and get some rays in the property to 'heat' it up. I'm south facing.
I would keep them open when I am at home to reduce using the lights. Although they are energy saving ones.0
