Laptop battery trick.

Someone gave me an old laptop with a knackered battery, pull the power cable and the laptop turned off.
It never even kept enough charge in it to keep the internal CMOS battery charged for more than a day before the BIOS reset and lost the date info etc.
I think the CMOS battery is knackered as well though.
I did some googling and found a site that suggested putting the battery in a freezer for a few days, well wrapped up of course to prevent any moisture ingress.
So after 5 days in the freezer and a day to thaw out I put the battery back in the laptop, plugged in the charger and left it for a day.
And what do you know?
Pull out the cable and 3 hours charge left in the battery.
Whether it will hold that charge for any length of time I don't know.

You need to charge/discharge the battery a few times for best result.
